We met Patrick Colgan back in September of 2002 when we started recording
our Christmas Album. He was spending time with his dad, Pat (our sound
engineer and friend), learning the ropes of the recording business.
We spent several sessions with him and came to know a wonderful young
man. He was shy around us but bits of humor would poke through and we'd
had a few good laughs. He was a very talented fellow.
When we went back to record the Walking With Jesus album in April of 2003,
we found out that Patrick had been in the hospital on and off over the last
several months. He had a form of lymphoma cancer. He underwent various
treatments and a bone marrow transplant and it was hopeful that he'd start to
come out of it.
Before we finalized Walking With Jesus, the Lord impressed Suzanne with a
song, "You're Not Alone", for Patrick and his family. The Lord knew that they
needed to have this song.
As time went on Patrick worsened until he finally passed away at the end of
June 2003. He died at the age of 20. We will miss him greatly but he still
lives on in our hearts.
What a wonderful day it will be when Christ awakens the sleeping , reunites
them with their loved ones, and take us all home.
